The Knitting Craze - Unwrapping my yarn stash

My "yarn seat".

My lacework box.

My needle case.

A Disney can... can be used to store -->

This looks like a very ordinary bag...

What makes it abnormal: I put my work in progress inside.

Books... Hidden in one corner of my bookshelf.

This looks like a very normal portfolio...

But if you are as crazy as me... you can do something like this...

The only trouble: these two huge packages of acrylic yarns, which I won from a crochet competition in 2004, have always driven me crazy. The green ones I am planning to crochet into an afghan. The yellows ones... well... The quality is not good enough for a garment, and the quantity is not high enough for an afghan! Maybe I will try some charity knits. I hide them in my closet.

update

So I started my long summer holiday. Everday I knit, watch Chinese episodes, work a bit for my garden, and go to supermarkets. Last week I finished a first aid tranning course. This week I volunteer for University of Toronto's Space Design Contest. Meet new people from around the campus and other universities. err... kinda fun..

These days I knit no personal stuff. My projects are all from Lettuce Knit. I knit as fast as possible every night and finish an average of one project per week! Today I went to the store and took pictures for my knitting stuffs displayed there. Hehe... They are just gorgeous.

My 4th project for Lettuce Knit will be the Fairy Net Blouse from Interweave Knits (the latest issue).

I am not sure whether other people notice that the quality of Interweave Knits is getting worse ad worse since last year (I mean both the knitwears featured and the quality of the photos). The photos are very very dark and blurry and the colours are not "natural". I decided not to subscribe it after the fall issue.

The Fairy Net Blouse will be knitted in very fine and delicate silk alpaca yarn from Misti.

Lettuce Knit is a warm and cozy place to go and shop! The lady in front of the door is Megan, owner of the store.

A bolero in Needful's "Geranium" (50% linen, 30% acrylic and 20% viscose). Pattern from Needful's latest issue. (My third project)

The drop stitch shawl in Misti Silk Cotton (75% cotton, 15% silk). Pattern from Stitch Diva Studio.

p.s I enjoy reading Chinese ancient poems from the Song Dynasty (宋詞)。Yesterday I found a really good one. If you can read Chinese. I am sure you would like it too.

Progress on my project

First of all, show a clear image of me wearing the aran wrap...

Next, we have the dropping stitch wrap from Lettuce Knit...

oOps!! mistake again... This time I could not just dropping stitches to fix the mistake. So I decided to...

mistake fixed...

... After dropping the stitches...the photo was taken at night, so the colour is a bit fake after editing with photoshop...

The overall look without sleeves...

He he... Try it on without the sleeves...

Latest progress: working on the sleeves...
The wrap will be returned on Tuesday.

May Flowers

梨花一枝春带雨... (呵呵这是樱花) Cherry blossom from my backyard. Planted four years ago.

Bought more flowers today. Planning to plant after the rain tomorrow.

Cherry blossom under the blue sky...

Red tulips...
Pink tulips...
Grape Hyacinth - One of my favourite spring flowers...

I love knitting. I love crochet. I love crafting. n I love gardening, too!
Summer holiday begins today! I will spend my four months knitting, crochet, gardening, and yeah, maybe a little bit of studying.
