See what I am working on now:
I am working on a Gansey! Learned from Knitting Ganseys by Beth Brown-Reinsel, and this is my first Gansey design. Again this sweater is for my brother.

A Mini-Simulation of EZ's Seamless Sweater & Percentage System

Here is what I created yesterday! A mini seamless yoke sweater! I use EZ's percentage system and figure out everyting myself! It's also a great way to learn knitting with a set of 4 or 5 dp needles. The pattern comes as follows:

yarn: any waste yarn you have

needle: 5 dp needles (i used 3.5 mm)

BACK:

cast on 36 sts, divide them into three needles.

Rnd 1: knit

Rnd2: purl

Rnd 3: knit

repeat Rnd 3 until whatever length you like (mine is about 2'').

Sleeves (make 2):

Cast on 20% of the body sts (that's 8 sts);

Rnd 1: knit

Rnd 2: purl

Rnd 3 &4: knit

Rnd 5: k1, m1, k6, m1, k1;

Rnd 6 to 9: knit

Rnd 10: k1, m1, k8, m1, k1;

Rnd 11 to 16: knit

Unite the sleeves and body together, leave 2 sts on each arm hole of the body and sleeves (that is, a total of 8 sts take out), divide the sts into four needles, continue patt as follows:

Rnd 1 to 5: knit

Rnd 6: k1, k2tog.

Rnd 7 & 8: knit

Rnd 9: k1, k2tog.

Rnd 10: knit

Rnd 11: k1, k2tog.

Rnd 12: k

Rnd 13: purl

cast off.... (note: according to the EZ percentage system, the height of the yoke is one half the width of the body)

sew the arm hole sts together...
